AUBURN, Calif. - The Placer County Water Agency (PCWA) Board of Directors unanimously approved a water supply agreement between PCWA and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)

The new agreement will ensure continued reliable water delivery to the people of western Placer County for the next 30 years.
"This agreement provides a strong foundation for moving forward and working in partnership with PG&E," Primo Santini, Chairman of the PCWA Board of Directors said.
Under the new water supply agreement:
  • The price of water is unchanged at $40 per acre-foot in 2015 and will be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index thereafter.
  • There are no longer any practical restrictions on the place of use for PG&E water within western Placer County.
  • PCWA retains the right to construct two new points of delivery, one for the Ophir Water Treatment Plant and one to provide emergency service to Meadow Vista.
  • PCWA will have the right to construct a new permanent pump station at Rock Creek reservoir.
  • PCWA will have the right to use PG&E's South Canal when needed during outages. However, PCWA is obligated to construct new raw or treated water capacity between Ophir and the Foothill-Sunset system within 7 to 10 years to eliminate reliance on the South Canal during routine outages.

Starting With Zillow's Zestimate May Not Get You Very Far - Call me for a proper market analysis! 916-622-7791

A couple of weeks ago real estate columnist Kenneth Harney reignited a heated real estate conversation about the use and value of "Zestimates" -- the automated property value estimates that appear alongside otherwise objective property information provided by Zillow, the dominant real estate information site on the Web.

Bickford Ranch development starting up again.

Bickford Ranch development starting up again.  The 1,928-acre development is in unincorporated Placer County, southeast of the intersection of Sierra College Boulevard and Highway 193.  The revised Bickford Ranch will include 1,890 homes, a kindergarten to eighth-grade school in the Loomis Union School District, two recreation centers, natural and paved trails open to the public, small parks within each neighborhood and two larger county parks, and a Placer County fire station. About 56 percent of Bickford Ranch will be open space, 1,088 of 1,928 acres.

Interesting article about the development.  I think I know how a lot of you feel about this.  No matter if you are for or against it, make sure you stay informed and attend the meetings so that you fully understand and voice your opinion.

The Village at Loomis project stirs mixed reactions from community

Wondering how all of my friends are feeling about The Village at Loomis project? With all of the talk and questions about the future of transfers into Del Oro and the impact this would have on our elementary schools, I think it is interesting that the school topic was not mentioned in the article. I look forward to seeing how this rolls out. This morning I was wishing for the drive-thru coffee shop in Looms, maybe this will provide that, fingers crossed!
